Radiography Testing
In radiography testing, the test part is placed between the radiation source and the film.
As the radiation passes through the material, it is subjected to a variety of interactions such as scattering, pair formation leads to absorption of radiation, which is dependent on the density and thickness of the testmaterial component. These absorption changes are then registered on film.
- For industrial applications, there are two types of radioactive sources: X-ray and Gamma-ray.
- Shorter wavelength versions of electromagnetic waves are used in these radiation sources.
- Because of the radioactivity, the Local Rules must be rigorously followed during the procedure.
- Film radiography, Real-Time Radiography (RTR), Computed Tomography (CT), Digital Radiography (DR), and
- Computed Radiography (CR) are some of the imaging methods and techniques used in industrial radiography.
